I’ve been living in Basalt, CO, just ten miles from Carbondale, for the past two years and recently checked out their coffee culture. I was pleasantly surprised with what I discovered. Two fabulous coffee shops in Carbondale! Both Bonfire Coffee and The Blend feature Defiant beans and pour-over options as well as perfectly smooth and beautiful lattes.

My younger brother was visiting from Portland, Oregon, the home base of amazing coffee roasters and cafe culture, so we were on a mission to find the perfect cup of coffee.

The service and pleasant atmosphere at both cafe’s was exceptional. Bonfire Coffee was spacious and offered free wi-fi. The Blend offered a cozier ambiance and wi-fi as well. The owner of the Blend Coffee Company, Wade, was exceptionally friendly and knowledgable about coffee. He introduced himself, as well as remembering our names as we left. He told us about our pour-over options for the day. He uses beans from Defiant and also Novo Coffee Roasters in Denver, Co. The pour-over method takes a few minutes to brew by hand an exquisite single-origin cup of coffee. The pour-over station at the Blend gives the customer a personal experience and the chance to chat with a professional barista, as the coffee is brewed. If you are a coffee aficionado, this is the way to go. Single origin coffee made to order, superior taste and if you have the time, a beautiful experience.
